i left it up to the stars to decide my fate,
bearing all of my wounds
(even the ones i’d given myself)
up
and out,
to bathe in their reaching light.
here is all of meee mee me
i shouted,
listening to the rhythmic echo of my brokenness dance away.
i let my voice travel through the trees,
hoping their branches would support my declaration,
hoping the leaves would carry it
onwards
to reach the ears of the moon,
and then the heart of the sun,
until it twisted its way into the
nebula,
pulsing, breathing, alive.
(i never looked back after that).
